Infrastructure

Sewer

The City recently completed a $1.3 million dollar project which included major improvements at the wastewater treatment plant and the replacement of dilapidated sanitary sewer line. The project was partially paid for by a $250,000 grant from the Office of Rural Community Affairs, Texas Community Development Program.

Water

The City recently received a $273,000 grant to replace several hundred feet of dilapidated water line. Engineering on the project is underway. Project scheduled for completion by summer 2008.


Commercial Development

Rugged CCTV Project


Helped with paving parking for a new business with $5-8 million in revenues
Renovation is almost complete on the building at 201 E. Main
Rugged CCTV is consolidating their operations into one location in Kemp.
They will be moving October 4, 2008. Look for a grand opening soon after

Park Improvements

Pavilion (40 X 60)


The Pavilion is complete

  • Location: behind City Park.

The Pavilion is ready for use and is being used on weekends.
For information on scheduling an event, contact city hall.

Walking Trail

  • Location: from almost 3rd St. to 14th St.
