Economic Incentives
The Kemp EDC is a 4-B Sales Tax Corporation dedicated to promoting commercial growth within the City and improving the area's standard of living. A seven member board of directors oversees the activities of the corporation. The board encourages members of the business community considering Kemp as a location to make application for possible incentives. Available options include:
- City Tax Abatements - through cooperation with the City Council, based on significant capital investment and job creation.
- Loans - extended at or below market interest rates. Terms may also allow portions to be forgiven should specific performance goals be met.
- Infrastructure Improvements - when upgrades or new service lines are necessary.
- Cash Grants - for highly desireable projects.
The EDC can also provide assistance with site location, relocation expenses and providing information necessary in applications for state or federal financing.
