Economic Incentives

The Kemp EDC is a 4-B Sales Tax Corporation dedicated to promoting commercial growth within the City and improving the area's standard of living. A seven member board of directors oversees the activities of the corporation. The board encourages members of the business community considering Kemp as a location to make application for possible incentives. Available options include:

  • City Tax Abatements - through cooperation with the City Council, based on significant capital investment and job creation.
  • Loans - extended at or below market interest rates. Terms may also allow portions to be forgiven should specific performance goals be met.
  • Infrastructure Improvements - when upgrades or new service lines are necessary.
  • Cash Grants - for highly desireable projects.

The EDC can also provide assistance with site location, relocation expenses and providing information necessary in applications for state or federal financing.

The City of Kemp is committed to increasing business opportunities to the community and will aggressively pursue grant monies from such programs as the Texas Department of Agriculture, Texas Capital Fund.
